From captivating musical tributes and exceptional dance to dynamic concerts and seasonal Halloween entertainment, the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center will stage October programming that celebrates creativity and talent.
Absolute Bands Live! featuring Bo Bice
On October 3 at 7 p.m., American Idol alum Bo Bice and the musicians of Absolute Bands Live! will showcase hits from Queen, Def Leppard, Journey, and Bon Jovi. Audiences can sing along to powerful renditions of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Rock Of Ages,” and “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida presents “Classical and Neo-classical Ballets”
This inspiring program on October 4 brings together internationally acclaimed choreography, classical masterpieces, and contemporary works that showcase the extraordinary versatility of the company’s artists. The evening opens with Vicente Nebrada’s Pentimento, an evocative abstract ballet inspired by the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Audiences will also enjoy Spring Waters, Asaf Messerer’s virtuosic masterpiece set to Sergei Rachmaninoff’s score. Another highlight of the evening is the United States premiere of Maestro Vladimir Issaev’s Four Seasons, a collection of four pas de deux choreographed to music from Giuseppe Verdi’s Les Vêpres Siciliennes. The program also welcomes the return of Corpus, choreographed by Lusian Hernandez to Frédéric Chopin’s Rondo à la Krakowiak. Concluding the evening is Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida’s first presentation of the magnificent Raymonda Grand Pas, set to Alexander Glazunov’s score. A free 30-minute pre-show discussion takes place at 4:30 p.m. inside the theater. A valid ticket for the corresponding performance is required to attend the pre-show discussion.
El Perro del Hortelano (The Dog in the Manger)
The City of Aventura opens its season in a partnership with FUNDarte and Miami-Dade County Auditorium with El Perro del Hortelano October 9 and 10 at 8 p.m., and October 11 at 2 p.m. Written by Lope de Vega, this Spanish Golden Age classic play explores the line between desire and refusal, revealing how love, ambition, and social class collide onstage and off. The production is presented in Spanish with English subtitles and is not appropriate for children age 4 and under.
“Icons” Returns
Migguel Anggelo’s acclaimed “Icons” series returns with a dynamic new concert celebrating the music that has shaped Latin culture worldwide. Led by Anggelo’s unmistakable voice, humor, and theatrical flair, “Icons: Latin Rhythms” is a joyful celebration of songs loved across generations. The performances on October 16 and 17 feature music by Rubén Blades and Oscar D’León, alongside Anggelo’s original work. The show blends classic sounds with modern style through fresh arrangements, unexpected mashups and playful surprises. Directed by Adrian Alea, with music direction by Jaime Lozano and an all-star lineup of musicians and special guests, this vibrant concert is a celebration of rhythm, connection, and culture.
“Two Piano Extravaganza: Six Pianists, Two Pianos”
The Miami International Piano Festival presents “Two Piano Extravaganza: Six Pianists, Two Pianos” October 18 at 5 p.m. The featured pianists are Albert Cano Smit, Julien Libeer, Reed Tetzloff, Stephen Beus, Kemal Gekic, and Ilya Itin. The program is scheduled to include pieces ranging from Mozart, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff to Ravel and Gershwin.
Dracula
Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida presents Dracula on October 22 at 7:30 p.m. Audiences can experience the mystery, romance, and haunting beauty in this Miami premiere of Roberto Forleo’s captivating full-length ballet. Inspired by Bram Stoker’s tale, this production brings the iconic vampire to life through dramatic choreography, theatrical imagery, and an evocative musical score. Blending classical ballet with contemporary expression, Dracula explores the timeless struggle between love, temptation, and the eternal battle between darkness and light. Patrons are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the evening by attending in elegant Gothic, Victorian, or Halloween-inspired costumes. A free 30-minute pre-show discussion takes place at 7 p.m. inside the theater. A valid ticket for the corresponding performance is required to attend.
“La Velada: An Alchemy of Past and Present”
The City of Aventura and FUNDarte will present “La Velada: An Alchemy of Past and Present” as part of the FL.Flamencos series, co-presented with the Miami-Dade County “Auditorium Away From Home” series, on October 24, at 8 p.m., and October 25, at 2 p.m. In the performance, Marta Gálvez transforms inherited movement and memory into a personal, contemporary expression rooted in history yet distinctly modern.
