Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden will welcome the community for Orchids in October, an annual fall tradition celebrating the beauty, diversity, and conservation of one of the world’s most fascinating plant families, October 10-11. The two-day experience brings together South Florida orchid growers, Fairchild experts, collectors, and plant lovers for a weekend of shopping and discovery.

Orchids in October invites guests to experience orchids throughout Fairchild, from browsing unique plants and connecting with growers to exploring the National Orchid Garden and learning about the Million Orchid Project, Fairchild’s urban conservation initiative working to restore native orchids across South Florida.   • Shop the Finest Orchids: Browse a curated marketplace of local orchid growers offering vibrant, distinctive, and unusual plants.
  • Discover and Learn: Connect with orchid growers and experts who can share their knowledge, answer questions, and offer guidance on orchid care.
  • Million Orchid Project: Explore Fairchild’s orchid conservation work and learn about the Million Orchid Project, which has reintroduced more than 700,000 native orchids across South Florida.
  • National Orchid Garden: Discover orchids beyond the marketplace with a visit to Fairchild’s National Orchid Garden and encounter the diversity of orchids growing within the garden.
  • Explore Fairchild: Tour Fairchild favorites including Wings of the Tropics, the Children’s Garden, and the misty cloud forest, extending the weekend beyond orchids alone.
  • Shop and Keep Exploring: Guests purchasing orchids can leave their plants at a designated holding area while continuing to enjoy the Garden, then retrieve their purchases before heading home.

Admission is $27.95 for guests ages 12 and older; $20.95 for seniors; $14.95 for children ages 3-11; and free for members and children younger than 2.
