In honor of National Beach Day on August 30, Carillon Miami Wellness Resort and MORAES, a Miami-based nonprofit working to inspire future marine and environmental scientists, will partner to host a Flip the Switch Sea Turtle Beach Cleanup.
From 9 a.m. to noon, this complimentary, hands-on experience will bring people together along Carillon’s Miami Beach coastline to remove marine debris, raise awareness of sea turtle conservation, and help protect South Florida’s coastal ecosystem.
Buckets, bags, and gloves will be provided. To ensure a comfortable experience for all participants, volunteers should bring:
- Reusable water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Hat and/or sunglasses
- Comfortable walking shoes or sandals
- Weather-appropriate clothing
Following the cleanup, participants can transform the collected materials into a one-of-a-kind recycled mosaic to take home, a meaningful keepsake inspired by their contribution to the coastline.
The cleanup will be held at Carillon Miami Wellness Resort (6801 Collins Avenue) in Miami Beach. Valet will be discounted to $10.
