Stacy Josloff is one Jersey girl who totally gets South Florida style. Her swimwear label, inca, started in New York, but its newest location in the Gansevoort South is right where it belongs. Offering everything one needs to lead the fabulous jet-set life, from beaded silk tunics and jeweled ponchos, sarongs and bikinis, totes and vivid, woven plastic beach mats, inca conjures the feeling of far-off lands like Morocco, Mexico, Asia, and Bali by way of lavish details, luxurious fabrics and impeccably intricate embellishments.
Josloff, who had originally been in business for years strictly as a wholesaler, finally opened her own boutique because it gave her the freedom to merchandise her own collection with her favorite pieces for customers who actually came through the door. She chose the Gansevoort for her second retail location—which she describes as “upscale beach shack” in design—because, as she says, “The sophistication, as well as the clientele the hotel caters to and attracts, was the right mix for what we’re looking to create. Our customer comes to us because we stand out and our product is not your typical, basic swimsuit. Shopping for swimwear usually sends women into a tailspin, and I want women to embrace their bodies and view themselves in a positive light.”
Before launching inca, Josloff, spent ten years as a high-profile sales executive at Ralph Lauren and Max Mara. These days, she is focused on building her brand. Recently, she launched the successful incagirl, a playful swim and resort line for the fashionista-in-training (sizes 4 to 14). “Five years from now we will have expanded into every element of our customer’s life,” she projects. “We currently design for women and girls; next is men’s, boys’, home, beauty…. The list is endless.” Gansevoort South at 2317 Collins Avenue, Suite #6. For more information, call 305.673.9170 or visit
