All You Need is Love

The end of 2009 marks an extraordinary milestone for Voices For Children—the organization’s 25th Anniversary. The fundraising arm of the 11th Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) Program, Voices for Children provides funds to the GAL Program to recruit and train volunteers who serve as the “voice” of Miami-Dade County’s abused, abandoned and neglected children in dependency court. Guardians ensure that these vulnerable victims are protected from further harm in the foster care system, receive necessary medical and dental care, have clothing and other basic necessities, and ultimately end up in a safe and permanent home. Thanks to the support and dedication of volunteers and the community at large, Voices has grown from a small, grassroots initiative to an organization with an annual budget of over $3 million. More importantly, in the first 25 years, the Guardian Ad Litem Program has been able to represent and protect approximately 25,000 children. However, right now there are still more than 3,000 children stuck in an overburdened foster care system. If you’d like to become part of the cause and change the life of a kid forever, visit voices4.org or call 305.324.5678.
