Mom to Jaden 7, and Dylan, 6

Occupation: I have many titles and wear many different hats. I am a fitness celebrity, fitness expert, author, certified life coach, lifestyle program developer, and CEO of my company, JNL, Inc.

How they make it fun: We believe in the power of exercising and making it fun. We also love to explore the world. We traveled to China last summer for three full weeks. We are now planning a trip to Australia. We also love to read, meditate, and play sports, such as golf and mixed martial arts. Kind of a broad spectrum, but we have a zest for life that is never-ending!

Pushover or a disciplinarian? Disciplinarian, but a fair one.

What do you do for yourself during “me time” to ensure you stay sane and looking and feeling good? I schedule in down time, as it’s a must for me not to get burned out or bitter. I always have my weekly massages, monthly facials and get my manis and pedis in. A goddess has to take care of herself, right?

Why do you think it’s important that, as a mother, you continue to pursue your personal interests and activities? It’s essential! We live in an era where women can be so much more than our own moms were allowed to be. Many moms from yesteryear were bitter, not better, jaded, not joyful, and were the sacrificial lamb for all others’ pleasure. Mom put herself last to always take care of the family first, but Mom was unhappy. So it’s a new era, and moms can put themselves back on their to-do lists!

What is the most important quality you can instill in your children? Self-respect and self-love.

What is the funniest thing your child has ever said to you, about you? “Mommy, why was I not at your wedding to Daddy? I am mad! I don’t see me in the photos!” I had to explain to him he wasn’t born yet, and he still didn’t believe me.
